Step-by-Step Guide: Editing a Logged Contact in World Radio League
1. Open the Relevant Logbook
Start by navigating to the “Log Contacts” section in your WRL account. Select the logbook where the contact is stored.
2. View Contact Details
To view the contact details, click on the button with an ‘eye’ icon located in the ‘Entries’ section on the right side of the row. This will display all the essential information. In this section, you can also view frequency, band, mode, distance, power, and more information.
3. Click the Edit Button
To start editing, click the “Edit” button next to the contact details. You can also find an “Edit” button on the main logbook page (on the previous step, just next to the ‘eye’ icon).
4. Update Location Information
If the location is incorrect, click on the current location setting. For example, in our case we want to change the grid square from “EM82LT” to one of our saved locations. Select the correct location you want to change to and click “Save.”
5. Select Your Radio and Antenna
Choose the radio used for this contact. In our case, we selected “Xiegu G90.” Once you’ve added your radio or chose one from your previously saved list, you may save your selection. You can also update the antenna information – in our case, we used an “End-fed Halfwave Antenna.”
6. Adjust Other Details
Ensure to review and update the remaining fields as needed, including the Callsign, Name, Signal reports, Frequency, Band, Mode, Power, Date and Time, along with any other pertinent information. Additionally, you can include any important notes in the designated “Notes” section.
7. Save Your Changes
After making all the necessary edits, click “Update Contact.”
8. Verify the Updates
Pull up the details again to ensure all changes are correct. WRL will also automatically update the distance based on your location changes.
Why Edit Your Contacts?
Editing your QSO details ensures your logbook remains accurate, which is crucial for tracking performance, validating contacts for awards, and maintaining a reliable record of your ham radio activities.
