          WRL feature highlight

          Introduction

Hello, radio enthusiasts! Today, we’re diving into a handy feature that World Radio League (WRL) offers to make your ham radio operations even more flexible and personalized. Whether you’re operating from your home station, a favorite park, or even a coffee shop, WRL lets you set up and manage multiple operating locations with ease.

In this feature highlight, we’ll walk you through the steps to add a new operating location to your WRL account.

Step-by-Step: How to Add a New Operating Location

          1. Go to Your Profile Page
To begin, navigate to your “My Profile” page within the World Radio League platform by selecting the option from the menus stacked on the left side.

          2. Select ‘Update Operating Locations’
Look for the “Update Operating Locations” option. Click on it, and then select “New Operating Location” on the top right side.

          3. Enter a Name for Your New Location
Give your new location a memorable name! For this example, let’s go with “Coffee Shop.”

          4. Choose Your Location Type and Pin It on the Map
Next, select the type of location. Then, find your desired spot on the map. You can switch to satellite view to make it easier to pinpoint the exact location. Maybe you love operating from a specific spot – go ahead and mark it on the map!

          5. Save Your New Location
Once you’ve pinpointed your location, simply select it on the map, hit “Save Location,” and voilà! Your new operating location is now saved in World Radio League.

          Using Your New Operating Location

Now that your new location is set up, let’s see how you can use it for logging your contacts:

          1. Create a New Logbook
Go to the “Log Contacts” section and create a new logbook. Give it a name that reflects your activity, such as “Mobile.”

          2. Change Your Operating Location
Switch the location from your home station to your new operating location – in this case, “Coffee Shop.”

          3. Save and Start Logging Contacts
Click “Save.” Now, any contact you log in this log book will default to your new location!

Quick Tip: Setting a Default Account Location

If you want to set a specific location as your default account location, just check the box next to it before saving. This ensures that all your contacts will default to that location unless otherwise specified.
