Today we’re highlighting some exciting new features and enhancements in the World Radio League (WRL) mobile app. Whether you’re at home or out in the field doing Parks on the Air (POTA), the WRL app is designed to streamline your ham radio experience. In this feature, we’ll walk you through some useful logging shortcuts and tips, plus show how you can enhance your POTA activations with the app. Let’s dive right in!

Logging Made Simple with World Radio League Mobile

1. Quick Frequency Changes

Need to change frequencies on the go? The WRL mobile app makes it super easy:

• If you’re switching frequencies within the same band, simply go to the Call Sign field and enter the new frequency. For example, to change to 14.256 MHz, just type .256, hit Done, and your frequency will update.
• To switch to a different band, enter the complete frequency (e.g., 7.278 MHz for 40 Meters) and hit Done to make the change.

2. Mode and Time Adjustments

You can quickly switch modes by typing in the new mode. For instance, switching from SSB to AM is as simple as typing the new mode and pressing Done.

Need to log contacts made earlier? You can adjust the time by entering values such as:

• -1H to subtract 1 hour.
• +2D to add 2 days.
• +30M to add 30 minutes.

This feature is particularly useful for operators logging past QSOs and needing to keep records accurate.

Spotting and POTA Features

The WRL mobile app comes with enhanced spotting filters, helping you easily find stations and parks:

• Head over to the Spots Page, and you can filter spots by band and mode for more targeted results.
• When participating in POTA, you can now find a park using just the park number—no prefix required. Simply enter the number, tap on the park, and it will automatically be added to your Park-to-Park field.

This makes park activations and hunting smoother and faster, especially when you’re out in the field.
