How to Share Your QSO Map in World Radio League
Hello, fellow ham radio enthusiasts! Today we’re showcasing another powerful feature of World Radio League (WRL). Did you know that you can visualize your QSOs (two-way contact) or logbooks as a map? Not only that, but you can also share your map as an image or link, making it easier to showcase your radio adventures with friends, fellow operators, or on social media.
In this feature highlight, we’ll guide you through the steps to share your QSO map, whether it’s your entire logbook or a single contact. Let’s dive right into World Radio League and explore!
Step-by-Step Guide to Sharing Your QSO Map
1. Navigate to Your Log Contacts Page
To get started, head over to the Log Contacts section within your WRL account. Once there, choose the log that contains the contact or contacts you want to visualize on the map.
2. Open the QSO Map Tab
After selecting the logbook, click on the QSO Map tab. Here, you’ll see a map with all of your QSOs visually represented by pins on the locations you’ve contacted. This offers a global view of your ham radio activity.
3. Customize and Share Your Map
Once you’re in the QSO Map tab, you can customize the map’s view by zooming in or out and even toggling it to full screen for a better view.
- Share the Map: You may simply click the Share button. You’ll be presented with two main sharing options:
- Download Image: Position the map exactly as you want it, then download it as an image.
- Copy Link: Alternatively, copy the link to the map and paste it anywhere—a browser, a forum, or directly share it with friends.
4. Share Via Social Links
For convenience, WRL provides social media sharing links that allow you to share your QSO map directly on platforms like Facebook, X, and others. Just click the relevant social icon, and your map will be shared instantly!
How to Share an Individual QSO Contact
What if you want to share just one specific QSO from your log? No problem! Follow these quick steps:
1. Select the Contact
In the logbook, locate the specific contact you wish to share. Click on the ‘View Contact’ button, represented by an ‘eye’ icon at the far right of the contact entry, to access the detailed information for that particular QSO.
2. Copy the Link
On the contact details page, click the Copy Link button. This copies a direct link to that particular contact. Now, you can paste and share it anywhere—your blog, email, or social media.
Why Share Your QSO Map?
Sharing your QSO map is a great way to showcase your ham radio achievements! Whether you’re activating rare DX spots, participating in a contest, or just want to share your hobby with friends, the visual map adds an exciting dimension to your log.
